Lexi Selman Ms. Lehmann English 2-2A 4 December 2019 Confidence Is All You Need Elizabeth Berg once said, “We are readers probably more than anything else.” Since time is limited resource, we should carefully choose the articles we give that time to DorothyRowe’s article about friendships, titled “With Friends Like These,” is certainly worth your time if you’re wanting to learn basic information. The author’s background contributes to the quality of this article. Dorothy Rowe’s background starts with her degree in psychology. She has also experienced working as a psychologist. Rowe’s background gives her knowledge to write this article but with the lack of resources that Rowe uses only gives you basic information. Her understanding of emotions helps a lot with writing this article. While writing this she uses first person pronouns. So this article is more of a basic knowledge. “Our levels of confidence also relate to how ready we are to accept the change, and how able we are to allow our friends to change.” This is very true. The way you see yourself is a way of identifying your friends. If you know your worth you will know your worth with friends and the way they treat you. You are your own change. The article, “Emotional Support” is about how your sense of danger can be changed by the amount of confidence you have. When your lest confidence the more you see danger and not good things like you might be jealous over things you don’t need to be. You let your self get treated the way you feel. When your not confident you don’t fell good about your self, so that’s they way your going to let people treat you. When your confident you don’t let little things bother you, you know how to handle it you don’t get as jealous either. Also you feel good about yourself and you only let good things around you and you will only let yourself have good around you. Basic knowledge is written all of this article if you like basic knowledge and personal stories then you will love reading this. In the time of reading this I learned great facts. about friendships, and relationships. A story that Rowes wrote was about how a married couple had a banking account and her husband withdrawal all the money. He used it for a gambling fetish he had. She had lost complete trust. She had value in her to realize that it is not okay. I know we all have had an dishonest friend, is not the best feeling so imagine someone your supposed to live your whole life with. Rowe tells us that our friendships are necessary for us to be happy, but friendships could be difficult because of our perceptions of our self and another. In conclusion Rowe is a psychologist and works well with people. On the other hand she doesn’t have a fact on fact article she has a basic knowledge article but still a very impressive article. She tells us that confidence is a great thing to have you see things in a better perspective. Overall “With friends like these” is a very good article to read for basic knowledge. If like things like that read it!
